The Clinical Study of Flurbiprofen in Rheumatoid Arthritis


Abstract
The purpose of this study was to. evaluate the clinical result of flurbiprofen in 20 patients with rheumatoid arthritis: In all patients, 200 mg of flurbiprofen (50 mg each tablet) were taken 4 times per day for 4 weeks by mouth.
The results obtained are as follows:
1. The clinical results were good in 13 (65%) out of 20 patients with rheumatoid arthritis, fair in 5 (2500) and poor in 2 (10%).
2. The good or fair result was observed in probable. or definite diagnostic criteria of. American Rheumatism Association and in the cases with no abnormality or only soft tissue swelling on the roentgenographic findings.
3. The poor result was observed in classic diagnostic criteria of American Rheumatism Association and in the cases with the bony changes such as osteoporosis, irregular joint margin, subchondral cyst formation and the narrowing of joint space etc. on the roentgenographic findings.
